Long story short - my dad was robbed over Thanksgiving while he was visiting me. His floor to ceiling humidor - all gone. He has no hope of ever seeing them again, and doesn't even want to talk about what was taken. Cigars he had traveled around the world collecting (including some he had custom rolled in Cuba & Spain): gone. Cigars he traded with friends for years, and cigars he was aging for 15+ years: also gone. His birthday is coming up in May, and I'd love to get him something decent. I don't even know the names of a lot of what was in his collection, so I don't know where to start. Obviously, I can't replace what he lost, but I would like to get him something a little nicer than what the local cigar shops offer (unless the local shop is where I should go? ). When I've searched for "aged" cigars online, most of the results are in the $700 range. Where do I start? What would make a nice gift for a $100-$200 budget? I'm a total Cigar No0b, but I do know that I personally liked the partigas short when I tried it (gift from dad a while ago), and I know he's mentioned enjoying a casual Romeo & Julieta.
